Track Project: (this is it the last one) Day Thirty-five!!!

I'm posting this a little on the late side because I got massively interrupted. The first thing I was going to post got corrupted so I had to toss it. I was in the middle of recording another thing when I got interrupted by a phone call. A friend of the family is in the hospital right now and it's kind of serious. So I scraped that other track too and made this. Not exactly how I thought this project would end but hey that's life/notlife.

Track Project: Day Thirty-four

This is the first song I remember writing in Los Angeles. I lived there for a brief period when I was young, I might still be young.

Track Project: Day Thirty-three

This one requires some verbiage before the listen. I wrote it long ago when I was young. It reflects a harsh reality about the Christmas season and did not literally happen. But the emotions are real.

Track Project: Day Thirty-one

This is a hymn based off of a Spanish tune. Sometimes it's nice to put the guitar down.

Track Project: Days Twenty-nine and Thirty

Had another strange day yesterday so today we have another double post.

Day Twenty-nine:

This is a family camp favorite. It's not serious at all.

Day Thirty

A wordless track.

Track Project: Day Twenty-eight

Based off an awkward encounter in a grocery store. This is a quintessential break up song. (whatever "quintessential" means)

Track Project: Day Twenty-four

I wrote this back in 2003 (I think). It was when all that Enron tech bubble stuff was going down. This is sort of about that but set on a sailing ship.

Track Project: Days Fourteen and Fifteen

Day Fourteen

Note: Life is hard juggling this project and all the other things I do is challenging. You'll just have to trust me that I had this ready yesterday but didn't have time to post.

Track Project: Day Thirteen

This one's about heaven. The second verse was written with a friend of the family in mind. She has Cerebral Palsy and has never had a cooperative body.

Track Project: Day Nine

I was reading a hymnal. The words were all two centuries ago so I rewrote one of the songs.

Track Project: Days Seven and Eight

Day Seven:
FAIL

Day Eight:

I took the words from a hymn.

And to make up for the fail yesterday I give you this bonus track

This is about a real person, myself, and a fake person, my imaginary friend.

Track Project: Days Five and Six

Day Five might technically be a FAIL this link goes to the video of me singing a song in my truck because it was a really weird day...

Day Six:

This one is about a sucky work situation.

The Track Project: Day Four

This recording came together really fast! This is awesome because I'm kind of tiered. Clearly it's about a relationship that is very messed up, nothing I've ever experienced personally.

The Track Project: Day Three

Small Hope

Recorded in Audacity

dark mood

Yes Lyrics.

The song came together in two parts. The original two lines were done about a year and a half before the rest of the song came to me in an intense walk though my neighbor hood. It could be about many things. Going over it today I saw some stuff about how image traps the self, but you don't have to see that.

The Track Project: Days One and Two

Yesterday I challenged myself to record one track a day for the next five weeks (that’s 35 days!). So, for the next five weeks I will post that day’s track and a brief description of what it is. This first week is going to be extra challenging because I’m opening a show on Friday. I might be turning in some very low quality work at first.

My motivations are two fold one I need to get my catalogue recorded at least demos of everything and two it will force me to play something daily and that is never a bad thing.

Some of these will be things I’ve already written, some will be new, and some will probably be covers.

I’m starting my count from yesterday.

Day One
No title.
Guitar, clapping, and vocals
Recorded in Audacity.
No lyrics. No story.

Day Two
He is Risen
Guitar, and vocals
Recorded in Audacity
Yes lyrics. This is a follow up to Old Tree, which I plan to post later.
